"This is a valuable opportunity to showcase the work of Latvian artists beyond their community out to the greater public – this offers exposure to the unique sensibilities of 1st, 2nd and even 3rd generation Latvian artists working in different mediums as their work ultimately informs the greater questions that touch upon the nature of living and working in Canada, the notion of identity, defining, redefining and questioning the notion of multiculturalism within this society. As part of a series of events involving different nationalities, this venue allows for the discovery of the commonalities that bind us in our experiences as immigrants, or children of immigrants and the differences that celebrate the uniqueness of each culture that ultimately can only enrich this society at large."
